The Canadian Women’s Foundation’s “#GirlPowered” campaign aimed to empower girls who are bombarded with sexist messages in the media. Havas helped take over Dundas Square with a billboard that asked: “What message would you give to every girl in the world?” While one team approached young girls and filmed their responses, a second team, hidden around the corner, created a digital billboard that featured messages from the girls in real-time. Normally, creative for the square’s billboards are delivered days in advance and placed into a queue. However, working closely with Cieslok, the team added new creative onto the server in real-time so that the girls could be surprised.
