Bleublancrouge created a chatbot for Let’s Drink Better that was bound to get the attention of drinkers age 18 to 34. The agency installed connected digital screens in bar restrooms where their “liver” (a chatbot) would speak to drinkers each time it detected alcohol in the urinal. “My Liver” got louder when it detected more alcohol in people’s urine as the evening went on. People could then continue the conversation with the chatbot if they scanned the screen with their smartphone. They could also get an estimate of their blood alcohol level, plus advice throughout the evening from their virtual liver. The “My Liver” app keeps track of drinking patterns, generates consumption reports, checks in on people the morning after, takes a selfie, and then uses it to punish the drinker if they slip back into bad drinking habits.
