While the world was captured by this year’s Royal Wedding bonanza in London, England, Tim Hortons seized the opportunity to put the spotlight on a London closer to home. The team dreamed up a fun way for Ontarians to experience a viewing party at a Timmies that was given the royal treatment. They sent out invites on Facebook with geo-targeted ads, inviting London locals to watch the wedding in style, whilst sipping on tea (or more appropriately, a double-double). Canadian influencers shared footage of the event, along with other attendees decked out in their Sunday best. The local restaurant could only fit 500 people, but the event received millions of online and earned media impressions.
