Keeping pedestrians safe is part of Honda’s mission to create a collision-free world. Working with Grip, Honda Canada partnered with Google’s navigation app Waze to add real-time alerts when drivers approached school zones. The team mapped over 900 schools across major Canadian cities with PIN notifications. The app then alerted motorists every time they were within a 1,000 metre radius of a school, during the hours when kids are going to and from school. The notification also came with unique Honda messaging, prompting drivers to be alert for kids. Improving road safety paid off: the campaign delivered over nine million impressions with an ad recall of 68%.
